Arma 2

1500 AI ... and he managed to kill... 0!! so gets the thumbs down in my book. I dont think he even see's 1 AI until the last 10 seconds before he dies.

The lighting is horrible especially on the ground cover, and there are laods of Z fighting issues with the particles. For a PC version this should be looking a lot better..

Talk about missing the point entirely....

I wonder if vehicles still have those postman pat sound files, in original ArmA, all tracks and jeeps would do the same brrrrruuuum cartoon sound changing in pitch with speed.

Lots of bullets, some poor lighting and not a single enemy solider, I'm dissappointed. :(

Edit: What the hell @ the muzzle flash, looks like a gif with 3 frames.

You're disappointed because no enemy soldiers? The point in the video was to show how it handles an insane amount of AI at night time with the lighting from fire/explosions/tracers/muzzles etc.
I personally don't think the lighting is bad, in fact I think it's one of the best sides of it, very immersive.

Same as above, thumbs down because he didn't see any AI? I think you need to open your eyes because there's like two planes on fire and tanks and tracers flying into the air in the first 10 seconds of the video.
If you meant enemy AI, what difference does it make if it's enemy or friendly? Who said he had to kill any?

I agree the muzzle flash is a bit off, but I just went in game to check and it's a TINY bit different in what his fraps doesn't pick up.

got this game last night from gameplay.com, sheesh does it run like a dog.

check my pc spec, the fill rate bar seriously slows the game dow to sub 5fps

running it @ 1920x1200 most of settings to max, fill rate set to lowest ( but just looks crap and washed out)

i'm gunna get used to controls before i play it fully, and wait for a patch to sort out performance issues.

anyone have any tips on getting it to run better please?

a) Don't run it at max settings
b) Lower your resolution
c) Don't expect just because you have the latest hardware that it should run at max settings

Knock your shadows down, I can have the fill rate bar at 100% with min. shadows and get a decent framerate at 1680x1050 on a Quad core @ 3.2ghz with a poxy 8800gt.

Erm, have you thought about moving the fill rate bar up and knocking the other settings down a notch? You'll find it looks at lot better then.

And what performance issues? Runs fine on my rig. As long as you employ some common sense when to adjust the graphics settings it's fine. BIS don't make the highest settings for the current hardware, they are meant to be used in the future to give the game some longevity.

I find the obsession with eye candy displayed by PC gamers these days really depressing. Whatever happened to enjoying playing a game, not just looking at it?

Increasing the fillrate effectively increases the resolution so setting it at max 200% is infact doubling your resolution!! So dont do it :) set it to 100% this will get rid of the washed out look. If your getting stuttering try playing around with the memory and texture setting. Terrain setting is a big fps hit so play around with that, and also shadows is a big hit. Right now the main issue you probably have poor performance is becuase I imagine your card isnt running in SLI mode, if you rename the exe to crysis64.exe if your running 7 x64 or crysis.exe if your running x86 version of 7, this should get SLI running. Also try these switches on your shortcut -winxp -maxmem=2047

Im running SLI GTX 280's @ 1920x1280 at high/very settings and im getting around 50-60fps

Good luck!

I been playing this game since 10 till now,I got to amit Graphics are stunning, but game play is poor, all i been doing mostly getting lost like helpless sheep, havent really kill anyone yet, might sell this game back to shop next weekend

thanks allot for you help will try that, the performance issues i was getting where trees not rendered just big rectangular blocks in just 1 colour and the ground flashing in/out of low/highgher quality textures.

i will try ev 1's suggestions and see how it runs.
