Arma Reforger

Playing this a lot just now, been on wasteland and WCS servers mainly, but tried one of the narcos servers which was fun. Could do with some friends to play with!
 
I've been watching this, and I love the Arma series. Own and play all, including the original Operation Flashpoint! My understanding, its Arma 3.5.

Arma 4 is incoming, but no one knows when. Bohemia has released this version to tide things over and take feedback from the community. It's come out of beta, now version 1.0, a game to buy. Content is a little light compared to a full blown Arma releases (there is no Editor, fewer units, weapons) but content wise, modders are filling this gap and the maps look great! Everon in this release was the classic Op Flash map.

The kicker for me was no Editor (which will come in Arma 4) but there is something which allows you to place units and have your own war, so I'm debating! I do like the classic setting compared to Arma 3's slightly futuristic setting.

They have stated a release date of 2027 for Arma 4.
 
Arma3 is still superior if one is interested in single player. Just add 3 mods - AI can't see through grass, PIR ragdoll mod and RHS for real weapons/tanks/choppers. Reforger is DOA as far as SP goes. A3 DLC maps - Tanoa and Livonia- are also very near to Reforger's graphics.
 
This is probably the first new(ish) game ive played in 10 years+ which has really gripped me. Incredible fun when the slots all fall into place.

Many others playing at the moment?
 
A couple of my gaming buddies from Hell Let Loose started playing this so I got it too a couple of weeks ago. It's really good fun. Loving the epic long matches especially on the big map. Doing supply runs in a Huey will never get boring. Great game.

I've only tried the W.C.S modded servers but they seem to be great. The only thing I hate is how long it takes to get into one of the popular servers :p
 
I've been soooo tempted to get this, Always been a fan of Arma, Squad type games... It does seem to have a lot of attention on YouTube/Twitch Streamers
 
I keep trying to get into this but for some reason it's not gripping me the same way arma did
 
It's good fun, but I find the PvP very hit and miss depending on what composition of players are on your team. There've been games where it's been back and forth for hours, others where one team just gets steam rolled in 45 minutes. I think I had one where our team was so slow mobilizing that I didn't even see an enemy before we lost :cry:. The PvE servers can be decent, it gets a bit unstable at times though with all the mods, some nights it will just disconnect or crash all the time.
 
Would you guys recommend this over Squad or not? I'm stuck between the two but the missus already has Squad on her PC and that's why I'm thinking more that
