Lower case 's'? Look at you, you trend setter!

(also totally stealing that band name for my next attempt at reclaiming my youth through the medium of bad music)

If he was shopping for computer parts in Manchester, then he has already broken one of the OcUK forum rules (competitors) without actually being a member on here :p

Manchester Police now saying the suspect is being held under the Mental Health Act after a review by a specialist doctor - https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-manchester-50025301

Basically they've realised this attack was going to spoil the current "biggest increase is in right wing terror" rhetoric.

Ah but thats true if you really think about it - if you have 1 "Right Wing" attack in year one and 2 attacks in year 2 thats a 100% increase, yet if you have 100 "Other" attacks in year one and 101 attacks in year 2 thats only a 1% increase and, to many who report on this sort of issue, a 100% increase sounds far more scary and sells far more advertising space/clicks than a tiny 1% increase, despite the fact that the total number of attacks is vastly different.

Statistics are great but ultimately mean nothing when their use in the media is deliberately poorly carried out.

What the heck does this have to do with far right terror?

Honestly, any little outrage to deflect and make light of serious issues (the sometimes separate, sometimes not issues of poor mental health and extremist pressure), utterly facetious.

Or more likely be put inside for an "indefinite period".

If you're convicted of an offence normally there is a (possible) release date, if he's being treated as a mental health issue then he's going to be inside for potentially an extremely long time as before they'll even consider ever releasing him, as he'll have to convince multiple medical experts that he's safe and remain that way (IIRC the normal way they deal with it is a set "minimum" time inside* but with the provision that it can be until he's no longer a danger)..

Given he "only" managed to injure 5 people, he's either an utterly incompetent rational attacker, or he's someone with serious mental health issues who has become violent and used something he had to hand without any rational planning or thought about how he was going to do the attack. I'm going with the experts who seem to think he's not rational over the forum.

*That may be similar to what he'd get normally.

He could be watching this thread as we type.

He could even be one of the posters in here :p

Like I've already said, easiest case for execution. Why waste 100s of thousands of pounds housing this stain on Britain?

Time to bring the "cuts" into Tory cuts.
    Cuts to his neck.

Just need to turn the Isle of Wight into a Battle Royale event for all these stains on society. They can stab each other as much as they want.

    Sure, but why no?
Explain how this guy spending the rest of his life in a hospital or prison helps anyone?
If you can give a decent reason it might help me to see it differently.

Because we're a civil society. The death penalty belongs in the past even if it pains us to let people like this exist. He needs to be kept away from the public and that will cost the tax payer unfortunately.

"Civilised people" is a concept that went out of fashion when kids started stabbing kids for living in a different postcode.
I think that argument, for the sake of discussion is way out of date in the 21st century.

Well you could always use my battle royale island suggestion but it's a bit of a hard sell. I reckon the viewing figures would surpass love island though.
