Arsenal V's Man U

prolly true, id rather have faced a full strength man u vs a full strength arsenal side as it would be a much better match and no excuses for either fans :)

OK, on paper a full-strength Arse-nil team vs a half-strength United team can only end in one result. But, you know, football is a funny old game and if those Arse-nil players get just that little bit too cockey it could put a different complexion on the result.

Obviously I'm hoping for a United win, and it's far from an impossible dream. However, even if Arse-nil do win this game there's still a long way to go before the end of the season.

Just remember those immortal words of Arse Winger. They went somthing like, "I can see this team going all season without being beaten." What happened? Three games on the run BEATEN (or was it 4:p ).

Annnnnnd take note, Forlan is starting to net a few. Great if he got the winner eh!:D :D

a lot of people thought we would lose to newcastle. we won.
most thought we would lose to liverpool. we won.

most think that we will lose to arsenal. i hope this pattern continues.

incidentally, both those games were played without veron, so perhaps dropping veron is the key to winning games. if veron plays, i think we will lose.

go man utd!!!!

Arsenal are far and away the best team in the Premiership with Henry the best player. If they take him out of the game and Arsenal have a stinker then Man Utd may have a chance but I expect a convincing Arsenal victory.

Thirteentyfour nil in favour of Arsenal is my prediction :D

arggghhh u non believers...

we beat newcastle, we beat basle, we beat liverpool and now its arsenal's turn to get a taste of the battering ram that is MANCHESTER UNITED

:)

it looks like a full strength side without campbell, i hope cygan and keown get play as a partnership better than campbell and cygan otherwise we may be in for trouble

It looks like our starting line up will be

Shaaban/Seaman

Cole/gio
keown
Cygan
Lauren

Pires
Gilberto
Vieira
ljundberg

Bergkamp
Henry

i wonder what the status on Cole and seaman is, otherwise things are lookin lovely :D

what no wiltord?

i actually predicted that u lot would beat newcastle and liverpool, most people think its gonna be a draw i would have thought, in fairness man u played bad and esp in the liverpool match they were lucky to get a win

remember last yr when man u came into the match with 7 wins on the trot everyone expected arsenal to loose, i think beckham and G.neville was injured and rvn was on the bench otherwise u had a full strength team, we had no henry, no pires and bergkamp on bench so it was pretty even.

i have changed my mind now, i am going for a good united win now that forlan is scoring, if we start him and RVN we will definetly be playing with confidance.

i am just interested to see what mid field we will be like though.

hehe indeed forlan has a much higher work rate than others but his finishing is still not great, he misses many and the 2 he got for liverpool were due to goalkeeper mistake and defensive error. I like him as an attacking midfielder but i dont think he makes a good striker

if bergkamp and pires are on form, i and many other are gonna be real happy Gooners coz they can slice and dice the best defences

Well this to me, will decide if we are gonna have a chance of redeeming ourselfs and make a run for the league.

I believe we are now finding our feet, look back? no one thought we would beat Newcastle and then Liverpool (HAHAHAHAHAH, AVE IT!!!!!), and now we face Arse?nal, without I may add, Becks, Veron, Keane, Rio, Blanc (is he gonna be back?).

Even with our current team, if arsenal dont get a early goal, then watch out....and if they mess up in anyway watch out! with have Forlan! I predict 3 this time for this superguy...

:D

wow if i didnt know anything about football and i just came and browsed this thead, the impression i would get is that forlan is widely regarded as the best striker on earth.

LOL :D

Although that is nothing, if you read half of the early posts from big kev from near to the start of the year you might have thought Gilles Grimandi not only had talent but was a legend :D :p

You mean double double winner Gilles Grimandi, he probably has more medals than the entire Leeds squad.:D

I doubt he played enough games to be eligable for any medals last season, in fact i can only remember seeing him once, and he was awful.

He played 26 times in the league, so he easily qualified.

He was a very useful player to come on as substitute, tightening up the midfield with twenty minutes or so to go. He wasn't gifted, but gave 100% and was a very useful squad member.:)

ferdinand might be back for saturdays match

last time i saw him was in the man city match iirc and he was having a lot of trouble with attackers with pace, but its not arsenal have pace upfront heh :p

Also im not trying to tick of man utd fans here btw, but from what ive seen most of them think they cant win this match. Its almost like the first time in the premiership man utd are playing a game at old trafford and are the underdogs weird heh
