(Art) They do it deliberately....

What is art (particularly 'modern'), if not something specifically designed to provoke a reaction? Isn't that the whole point?

No, provoking a reaction and calling it art is just self a indulgent act of rebellion by middle class wasters too scared to take part in a riot.

Modern art is crap. I could quite literally urinate onto glass and it could be considered postmodernist art.

Whatever happened to making good art, like the Mona Liza?

Because the Mona Lisa is merely a portrait, that's it. A well made portrait maybe, but only a painting because cameras had not yet been invented. If it were a photo, no one would care about it. Infact, if it were painted by any other than Da Vinci, I may be as bold to claim no one would care about it.

Art has evolved, it's not just about landscape paintings or portraits anymore, it's about concepts. Would you expect all music to be like it was five hundred years ago? No, things change and develop. There are some very good modern pieces of art indeed. I was at the Tate Modern on Saturday as it happens - the Idea and Object exhibition is particularly good.

The turner prize isn't supposed to be understood by every day people, it's load of rubish so arty farty types can give each other a good old slap on the back and say how clever they are!

When my mates Dad was forced to visit the Tate he stood staring at a radiator and making generic comments to his wife. After about 5 minutes there was a crowd of 10 people or more looking at the radiator.
