They turn around and f me off again! From the latest drivers 17.8.2 whenever I install Afterburner to OC the drivers seem to now limit my Core Clock to 300MHz no matter what... has anyone else had this issue?

I've tried DDU/driver and afterburner uninstall and reinstall multiple times with no fix. The only fix I've found is not to install afterburner at all, which takes away the limit, but now I'm unable to OC the memory. Really frustrating.

Isn't this akin to complaining about a game maker when the mods break?

Unless AMD is doing it specially to break Afterburner shouldn't you be on the MSI forum telling them that MSI Afterburner isn't working?

AMD recently changed the way their drivers handle overclocking. Afterburner needs updating to work correctly again, not sure if they've got a new compatible version out yet.

Speak to the Afterburner developers?

Could be, someone made a several page rant at the AMD rep that his nano memory wasn't overclocking anymore.

AMDMatt replied several times that AMD had never supported overclocking for it so 3rd party overclocking not working wasn't something they were going to spend any time on.

He additionally said that any card which was officially supported would be looked into if overclocking was affected.

In a nutshell, whatever the reason that it doesn't work on new drivers AMD will not make an effort to make something work they didn't support.

Get on the phone to MSI and badger them to look at their Afterburner software to see if they can fiddle it into working.

You can't as of the 17 series drivers, AMD disabled overclocking of HBM, they also blocked core voltage changes as well. My Fury X is basically dead in the water now, as I have to undervolt for stability, if i leave it at default voltage I get constant crashes. Had to happen 2 months after warranty ended!
