hi,

okay ive last this task right to the end (its in for tomorow).. but im finding it hard interpreting this document that tells us what we're supposed to do:

Task f: different types of data combined to present the results of the investigation [5 marks]

This task draws on the outcomes of all the other tasks. The presentation can take many forms, for example an on-screen presentation, a website, a report or a newsletter. The important aspect of this task is the combination of different types of data from different sources into a coherent presentation.

The types of data are listed as:
• Text both created by you and from existing sources
• Graphics from websites and other sources
• Numerical data from spreadsheets
• Graphs and charts
• Results of database searches
• Hyperlinks to other information sources

Mark Band 1 (0-2)

• You must produce a presentation that combines at least two different types of data from at least two information sources

What the hell's that supposed to mean??

we've done other tasks where we gotta show we can use search engines, navigation bars on websites, microsoft access databses etc..

So do I have to say something like: I used this data with microsoft excel to create a graph etcetc?

Anyone?

Thanks!

Represent the results of each other task you've had to do as a graph, numerical results and text or whatever, and display them as a presentation.

A bit basic for A-Level isn't it?

That's the one i did!

Saying that...the unit you're doing, our class completed last week so you're a bit behind surely? You have a few more tasks after that if you're doing them in order?

For mine, i created a slideshow presentation and what you're trying to do is list evidence from different sources showing how you answered the question.

I used a few graphs, newspaper articles (Online), my own database, quotes etc.

Surely your teacher explained this to you...

Seems to me their asking you to present a report which can be presented using the following:-

on-screen presentation, a website, a report or a newsletter

In this report you have to draw upon the final findings of the previous tasks. Their asking you to produce your presentation using two of these:-

Text both created by you and from existing sources
• Graphics from websites and other sources
• Numerical data from spreadsheets
• Graphs and charts
• Results of database searches
• Hyperlinks to other information sources

And using at least two information sources present this in a coherent
manner - thats the way i see it. Am sure our fellow poster's maybe able to present this in an easier to understand fashion ;)
