as rock problem

the ram has been tested the cpu has been changed im using the bios and speed fan to check temp so i have just forked out £70 for nothing when its the motherboard

The people on this forum are just trying to help. When several people who probably know a fair amount more than you suggest you change your PSU then I suggest you do it and thank them for that advice. Although it didn't fix your problem, running a £20 PSU is like running your PC with a timebomb inside. That £70 you spent 'for nothing' is probably the best £70 you've ever spent, regardless of whether you know it or not.

Can i suggest you check in your BIOS for the auto switch off temperature?

My friend had this problem, it was caused by his CPU hitting 50 Degrees C :D

Failing that, try a windows re-install? I know it would normally BSOD but it's another thing out i guess?

EDIT: Regards the PSU issue.....you may feel you wasted £70.....but that purchase has most likely stopped you taking out your CPU, Mobo, RAM and HDD when it fails.

Speaking of that, I'm scared with mine :D

Im having a hard time seeing what your spec is exactly;
Could you set it out in order down the page with full stats please.
PSU:
MOBO:
CPU:
RAM:
GPU:
HDDs:
Peripherals:
With as much information as possible on each

And if I read correctly, you are running without a discrete graphics card? This I think could be the issue. Your system may be trying to pull power from graphics and when it cant it shuts off - the old onboard graphics just cant support the system.

Edit; I have seen 3 cheap PSU's pop - 2 being mine because I had the same attitude many years ago. I was extremly lucky and nothing else went. I never bought 'cheap' power supplies per say - always good manufacturer, just always underpowered. Safe to say my last 2 systems have been built with top notch PSU's Corsair TX or HX series generally. You certainly didnt waste money.
