There's a question, "Why do you think that you would enjoy working in our store/depot" anyone got any ideas? TBH I really am not going to 'enjoy' myself so I don't know what to put.

Or how much you'll enjoy being one of William R. Fields' corporate <female dog> :D

Because you like making a difference in the field of modern medical science.

Failing that, something about enjoying working with people.

I would like to work in the store as i like the challenge of meeting people and helping them with any question they might have.

Will that do?

Usual and expected responses would include:

enjoy working as part of a team
enjoy helping people
enjoy meeting people

and so on.

You could also mention (if applicable) that the store is a significant part of the local community in that everyone shops there and it emplys a lot of people.

It is not always the work itself which people like or dislike but the people that they work with that can make a great job terrible and a dull job fun. I hope for the sake of your colleagues that you won't be going there with such a negative attitude or you'll simply irritate everyone.

To back up what VIRII is saying, my favourite time of life was when I was at college and working at BK. So far my favourite job by far :)

I worked in a joke / sex shop for a while as a youngster. There were some very, very funny moments. I'm not sure that they can be repeated here though - "what batteries does this take" being one of my more embarrassing moments.

It can be a start to a career aswell remember, my cousin started shelf stacking and has progressed throughout the years to be coming managment of Tesco's.

He is 32 now and has a big house and a nice car. Shelf stacking can lead to a successful job if you can prove yourself worthy.

Not really looking at it as a career, it's just a summer job really. :)

Thanks for all the suggestions, I used El Razurs in the end.

Hence why I said 'even a career', perhaps it could have been clearer. It is clearly not a vocation but for a few percent of the workforce could turn out to be a career.

Not sure a career can be defined by the size of the pay packet alone but there is certainly scope to carve out a career withint supermarkets.

I used to work a Friday night shift in Burger King, Cardiff. All the people there were close friends, we had a great laugh.

Meeting people is a challenge for you? Do you run up to them shouting 'OOH BE MY FRIEND!!!'?
