He was fantastic in Rainman which is nearly 20 years old now. He portrayed a changing character over the course of the film very well which isn't easy to do; in fact there is a case to say he arguably deserved the Oscar more than Hoffman.

And none of them better than Top Gun
Or Alien/s, Rocky, Die Hard, etc. His choice of words was 'best film to come out of the 80s' which could not be wider of the mark if he tried.
