Actually you might notice the word 'opinion' thrown in there if you took the time to read all of them.
Anyway, these additives, what difference do they actually make. In my experience, absolutely none and they have no value to me.
I did read it. Your only opinion was about octane.
I get bored of reading all these Internet experts who harp on about something as if it is fact. You are wrong by claiming it is all the same and supermarket fuel is no different to smart price food.

I work at one of the biggest inland petrol distribution sites in the UK, which is supplied by two petroleum companies direct from their refinery. The tanks onsite contain are a mix of both companies product at all times. On a daily basis every supermarket will load here, along with every other major oil company you will see throughout the UK.

I wouldn't care if I put normal fuel from any garage if I'm just running stock 95 in a car that wouldn't care if it's 95/99.
I put vpower in my car as it's makes more power, better mpg and feel better all round. Not sure if the anything in it really keeps the injectors and engine clean but it's worth a shot. You're talking about £5-£6 over a tank.
You need to run a few tanks of vpower through the engine for the ecu to accommodate the higher Ron fuel, that's why just £20 in your tank won't make an immediate difference.

I have it on authority from someone that consults at a couple of the Supermajors (as-well as a few of the Arab state-owned oil & gas) that there is a difference. Whether they're telling me the truth I don't know, but I like to think they'd be better informed than the internet.

The only differences can be in the additives as they all get the petrol from the same refineries.

The internent can be a wonderful things for wrong information, but on this one subject I'm pretty confident that I can say hand on heart that the base product before the addition of any additives is the same throughout pretty much every forecourt in the country.
On a Jag V8, the difference between supermarket 95 and shell V is v noticeable immediately (the shove from 0 mph is a lot greater-tried countless times)but in other cars I can't say I can tell...when not driving back to back.
On the additives side....no one can tell what difference it makes to system maintenance, unless durability tested for a period of time.
