Ashes of the Singularity Coming, with DX12 Benchmark in thread.

i sometimes play a old rpg and it uses 100% cpu
it doesnt mean its using it well lol
any little thing u do in the background lags it too
dam korean coders! :E

Any way, what's AMDMatt doing with an Intel CPU! Blasphemy. :p

It's needed to drive four Graphics Cards as I'm still massively cpu bottlenecked, even at 4K, with the fastest cpu money can buy.

But hey, DX12 and Vulkan (read Mantle) are going to change all that. :D

So, you're going to be moving to an AMD FX CPU once DX12 games arrive? :D

But just not for serious gaming! ;)

---

AMD claim 40% improved IPC with Zen.

40% over Excavator which ships with Caveri. So not just 40% over the IPC that Piledriver gets with Vishera parts (FX8350 etc)

So a bigger bump than people think :D

And it will be sweet if AMD release an affordable 8 core 16 thread FX part :D

i7 4790k @ 4.7Ghz
Sapphire R9 290 @ 1100/1300

All graphics settings were set as high as they could all go.

Same Sapphire R9 290 @ 1100/1300 setting.. all on high....but with a 9590...

DX12

this test saying the AMD cpu works better then the 4790k between the 2?

trying to understand the CPU framerate (all batches)

In your run you got better performance overall, yeah.

The CPU Framerate is the amount of frames that your CPU is generating for yout GPU.

it is a test of how high your FPS could be if your GPU could render all the frames the CPU is sending it.

Am sure there is a bug with that. Was posted a few pages back. All setting defo at high.

Can have tempotal off and it will show 12.

Here is a re-run i did with your settings. Used the "High" preset and set MSAA to x4. Re-run yours using the "High" preset then set MSAA to 4x, make sure you restart the game after you apply.

Nope

When I ran this bench using DX12 HWMonitor reported that all the cores were being used on my 5960X but only at around 65%, some were higher some lower and none of them got to 100%.

The comical part about it is I was playing Civ5 (DX11) this morning and that managed to get nearly all the cores to 100% lol.

I assume you ran it in full system benchmark then, which makes sense as 1 Titan X isn't enough to cap 5960X cpu (no gpu is). You need to run it in cpu benchmark mode if you want to see real cpu scaling with "infinite fast gpu".
