Asking for a copy of license when insuring a car?

Hey,

Who here has been asked for a copy of their driving license (or for the pedantic amongst you - their paper counterpart to be provided) when insuring a car?

The last 2 times I've insured a car I've been asked for this, but before that I haven't been.

I've asked my friends who vary with and without points on their license and some said yes and some said no :confused:

So, who has? and who hasn't? and what insurance company were you/are you with?

Kwik Fit asked for mine, they then went on to keep asking me for it throughout the year having already sent them 2 copy's and speaking to them about it and them saying it was all ok :rolleyes:

No other insurer have asked me though.
 
I have to send a copy off when I insure, I suppose a few insurers do it to check you aren't telling porkies about having a clean license.

Nope, I'm pretty desperate for a car and set on this one, going to try and get a day off this week, train it up with the cash, take a look over it and test drive, if its sound I'll buy it there and then on the spot and drive it home.

I 'think' it's a HPT one, so 185bhp. I say this because of the bigger brakes, body kit, and I'm sure the SE's were 185bhp. I'm not bothered if its a HPT or LPT, either way providing it's all kosha, I'll have it. :)

Depended entirely on who got their foot on the pedal first :p until you got into silly figures then I'd pull away.

Kwik Fit didn't ask me when I swapped to them a few months ago. Strange.

Edit: Never been asked for it.
