has any body got one of these?

I am having a little problem that it will only accept 1 DDR stick, if I put a second in it simply doesent recognise it.

any body had similair and managed to figure it out?

cheers

Have you tried switching the sticks so that you've tested both of them in each slot, one at a time? Are you sure you're not putting the 2nd stick in the DDR2 slot? I used to have this board and never had a problem with the DDR...

yeah tested both stick (and 2 other sticks) all of them work in ddr slot 1, but none of them work in slot2

Have email asrock support, after a little search in google, others have same problem.

you can't put a ddr stick in a ddr2 slot it isnt physchally the same size ( the cut out slot is in a different place)

I know silly - was just making sure though! Sorry to insult your intelligence, I didn't mean to, but people have done crazier things. Sounds like it's time to RMA the board though.

yeah i know munky. hope i didnt come across as stroppy. - did it myself once - but in my own defence it was ddr2 400 (didnt even know there was a 400mhz version of ddr2 at the time)

janesy same issue wuth ddr2 so doesent help, also the person the build is for is on a very tight budget, hence why I got this board as it is just about cheapest options possible (using agp g.card and ddr1 memmory)

they have gone from a p4 1.6 to this baord (with a pentium D 2.8) via an amd athlon 2.8 which overheated and burnt out in less than a week lol (was an old one i had lying around, guess CPu's are like printers if you dont use them they die) so even with 512meg ram its going to be a big upgrade untill i can get hold of a cheap 1 gig stick

Well I've got 2 of 'em :D
They're ok for what they are and will do a mild o/c ie e2160 @ 2.6ghz easy.
I've never encountered any problems with the ddr slots although I also had the original dual/vsta and that sometimes dropped one of the sticks when it had ddr2 in it. Just loose connections though.
Really though if only one ddr slot works just rma it as it's certainly not the norm.
