Im just speccing up a upgrade for a mate just wondering what DDR2 RAM you people are using in this mobo and what the overclocking is like.

Specs

Asrock 4CoreDual-VSTA
E2160
2gb DDR2 - undecided what do you suggest?

Ive seen people get to 2.6Ghz+ with this board but im not sure what RAM would be good for it.

Regards

E4400 @ 2.7Ghz 270 x 10

Corsair XMS2048 PC5400 C4, 4-4-4-12 @ 337Mhz 1.9v

RAM will run at 4-4-4-12 @ 350 1.9v but cpu @ 10 x 280 needs more volts to be orthos stable.

Hope this helps

Thats the RAM im thinknig of. :)

Any reason you want to get the asrock board for him?

Its not a good board for overclocking, and since your getting ddr2, I assume he's sticking with AGP card?

If he's getting an pci-e card or has one already, get a better clocking motherboard.

Matthew

He has a AGP card - X1950 Pro

Its all pretty strange 'cos he wants to get complete new PC for uni and I have no idea why he is doing this now, but hey its his money.
