Asrock Beep Codes.

Hi, I have a n Asrock 4coredual Sata 2 motherboard, with an E5300 and 2gb of PC5300 ram.

I've built it up, just the motherboard, cpu, ram, graphics card and hard drive so far.

With the ram installed, I get 10 beeps? These are 2 short beeps very close together, then a short pause, then the remaining 8 with a shorter pause in between each.

With the ram out, it has a completely different beep.

I think these have an AMI bios? In that case according to the internet, the error is "Coms Shutdown Register Read/Write: The shutdown register for coms RAM has failed".

I have no idea what this means or how to make it go, any helpers? It doesn't appear to be able to acces the graphics card, I don't know whether this is just because it can't get past this beep error though.

I've reset the CMOS, any other ideas?

Right just changed the ram for some DDR 133mhz stuff I had lieing around, it tried to boot the windows OS from a hard drive I'm using, but that install was on a different motherboard and CPU so I didn't expect it to work, it loaded the screen with the options for safe mode etc, I selected normal, then it flashed the BSOD and restarted.

Before it loaded the options screen though, it sat there for ages with an underscore flashing, beeped once about halfway through a kept flashing, then finally loaded the options?
