Does anyone know when the Asrock Conroe865pe motherboard will be available, and will Overclockers be stocking it.

Thank you.

You are mistaken there, 865p chipset is alive and well and runnning core2duo cpus  Both Asrock and Asus have 865pe agp chipseted mobos available in their current catalogues.

Haven't seen the conroe865pe chipset mobo on sale yet in the UK, but the 775i65g conroe compatible motherboard with the 865g (onboard graphics) chipset and AGP socket is available for £31inc vat from online retailers.

Well i did say unless they're doing something i don't know about :D I usually use 965, 945 and 975x etc.. when i do conroe/allendale systems :) Bet they got those 865 chips on the cheap, gotta love Asrock :D BTW hows the performance?

Apparantly a geezer at a Taiwan market bought 20 large cardboard boxes marked 'chips' for a few quid, he was a bit bit miffed when he found out they weren't made of potato! :D

I'm well tempted by one of these. Just bought a flat so strapped for cash (had to sell my MacBook Pro  ) I need a faster CPU and I'd rather not chuck 2Gb RAM, a decent enough AGP graphics card and a 400Gb of IDE hard drives away.

Stick a low-end Core2Duo in and you got a fast cool running cheapo upgrade. Just doesn't appear to be any stock around...

Holy thread revival Batman!

Now that these are available, can anyone help with how overclockable these are? Wondering if this is worth using for a cheap upgrade to C2D without changing my graphics card and RAM but not keen on the VSTA Asrock boards.
