Asrock DualSata2 Beta Bios User?

yes i set the ram at 2T manually.

ok currently running at 2.9ghz, snm only lasted for 3 mins at vcore of 1.325v so now im at 1.35v and snm has been running for a while.

gonna try 2950mhz now on 295htt and see if thats stable.

right, 2950mhz with htt of 295 requires voltage to be at 1.40v to be snm stable.

im beginning to see the pattern here.

2740 = 1.275v
2900 = 1.375v
2950 = 1.425v

the cpu seems to want a lot more juice the higher up it goes. voltage increase does not seem to be linear to cpu clock speed increase. i think i am beginning to see why 3ghz was crashing in snm in like 10 seconds of testing.

then again i did not have this dram timer option enabled in the bios before.

still i got 1 more notche left on the vcore till the board maxes out. gona see what it can do now.

dram idle timer only makes the memory perform a little better, nothing to do with cpu overclock. and you can drop the multiplier and the board will happily run 300htt and more.

1.45-1.5v should get u to the magic 3ghz

hmm, got problems being stable at 297htt = 2970mhz with max vcore. bsod in snm. temps are in low 40s so not heat issue. may be fast reaching core limit with boards max vcore of 1.45v.

gonna try and get as much speed as possible.

vmod imo

what gives the best performance generally? lower multi and higher HTT? or is it more ram clock speeds? or is it raw cpu clock speeds?

ahh seen. im still snm'ing at 2900mhz @ 1.375v. been testing for over an hour and a half now and no problems.

wonder is 2.9ghz is a good speed? hehehehe :D

ram is running currently on a 2/3 divider so its doing 193.3mhz 3-3-3-10 2T.
gonna try the 5/6 divider now and pray that it hits 242mhz stable but seriously doubt that it will.

if not then will try and tighten up the timings and then leave things at that for a while and start playing with the system.

next step will be a new gfx card.

oops forgot to add, case temp is 25c and cpu load temp was 43c. it is a bit cold in my room today but looks like temps will not be an issue with this cpu. :cool:
