ASRock Extreme4 Z77 new build powers up then nothing

That worked for 20 seconds then it started to stutter again and after about 20 more seconds was back how it started :-(

Yea I shut down the system and held the CMOS reset button on the back of the I/O panel for a minute. I don't know if that's actually necessary but the manual doesn't say anything about it!

Hi,

I had problems after updating the bios on this board also but to v 1.30. Couldn't get a stable overclock of any type. Blue screens randomly. Distorted strange sound nattering windows. I put it down to a faulty ssd but swapped it and reloaded windows same issues. Reset the bios and reinstalled windows and all the problems disappeared. It appears some strange things happen with this board if you ounc reset the bios after a flash.

EDit: Go into the bios and reset to bios defaults.

I'm seriously hacked off with this product, The reviews were great but ASRock tech support is useless, I haven't found a solution to this problem and it's too late to get a refund, I can only get a replacement and if the problem i inherent in the product rather than a faulty part I've wasted £110

I have removed everything except the bare essentials.

The problem till occur on clean windows installations. However it is working fine on linux booted off a usb stick. Am currently downloading a full distro to intall and test. Does this mean it could be a windows compatibility issue rather than a problem with the motherboard itself? If so is there any chance of it being fixed?
