Ok, this evening I got around to giving this a go. Played it for about half an hour before I had to stop.
Not impressed so far. The game itself seems to be ok and the inclusion of Mixed reality before you go into the Animus is very cool. However, it stutters all the time. When I hold something in my hand it's like watching stop motion in slow motion. When I swing a sword it moves a bit, stops, moves a bit, stops, moves a bit, stops. Trying to throw anything is impossible. Watching myself trying to throw a vase to distract the guards was like watching Mr.Cookie play Eleven Table Tennis, just tragic!!
If I don't pick anything up it seems to run fine. But trying to fight, climb or do anything is painful. Tough to do and tough to watch. It really messes with your brain after a while. Some would say isn't it lucky I don't have a brain!!
Anyway there are suggestions out there to do a hard restart of the Quest 3 before playing makes it much better. Others say it's still not great even after doing this. Will give it a go next time I try the game. If it still stutters I am going to return it. The stutters don't seem to a problem on the Quest 2 or the Quest Pro. (a hard restart is holding down the power button until it goes off and leave if off for 30 seconds before restarting)
Oh, forgot to mention that it crashed twice in game. Just black screen with nothing happening, could quit the game using the Oculus menu button. So it was just the game that crashed not the headset. Restarted the headset after each crash. The third time it didn't crash at all.
