Not Eye said the blind man

Got it on PS3 and never finished it - gets boring after a short while. Still beautifull, big levels, cool universe and gameplay is tight (easier than Ninja Gaiden, but that is good for me :))

Wished they had included more RPG type features such as character enhancements, better NPC interaction, proper bonuses for side missions etc...

Anyway this game plays better on console, not sure I would get this for PC

Bought it more for a look than anything, curiosity got the better of me! Not got any consoles (not my thing), so I thought i'd take a look, was only £25.

Supposed to be graphically amazing on the pc, should find out tomorrow.

The game sucks in that it's suppose to be a stealth game. You can walk into a city and just kill EVERYONE effortlessly by timing your counterattacks. If they made a game on this graphics engine set in feudal Japan and you were a Samurai then it could be awesome..

I pretty much agree with this. The game is pretty linear and the fact you can just slaughter everyone if you want without any real repercussions just makes the whole stealth meter, etc largely irrelevant.

Also as remarked above it's trivially easy to insta-kill most people you come across just by pressing a button whilst blocking as they attack (counter-attacking)... I have more fun in fights by trying to grab & throw people off cliffs, etc.

The whole game seems to be "jump off tower here, rescue oppressed person there, pickpocket someone, kill everyone and anyone you feel like killing" - repeat this ad infinitum for every city you travel to.

The climbing aspect of the game works well, but it's unlike most console ports it just feels like it should've stayed on console.

I disagree. While you can go around and slaughter everyone, it is up to you whether you choose to do that or if you choose to use stealth. If you just want to go in hack&slash, then maybe this game isn't for you, despite the fact the fighting can be very fun when you don't just counter all the time.

I duno the freedom or what feels like freedom is what i would like to see. I just hope its not too theif like as in you need to sneak too much cos they just drag on too long hence i like jumping in killing and escape or kill who i can see in the area. :p

pc games involving fighting with a sword dont really do it for me. dont find the controls very natural. that said i will try a demo if there is 1 and review my current opinion

There is an argument for creativity here.

This is sort of a sandbox game, and with sandbox games, if you follow the path of least resistance you're gonna get bored. You have to learn to play in the sandbox. That's the trick with sandbox games, they require you to be creative with the environment and the tools you've got in order to be entertained, or get the most out of them.

Having said that though, I did say AC was sort of a sandbox game. You will likely get bored by the 6th mission, regardless, because there are objectives you simply must complete.

Typical, i just received the game and the damn thing wont install. Some error with Data4.cab or something. Ive had a search and it looks like people were even having this problem with the leaked version. Maybe its the installation problem IGN reported with Vista 32bit ? Im stumped for what to do (i tried copying the files onto the hard drive but Data4.cab wudnt budge).

How reliant is the stealth part of the game cos i hated stealth in thief games but i didnt mind it as much in MGS on the psx1 years ago. But the stealth meter part stuff im worried about i mean i just wana attack how i want like say jump off a roof and dive a dagger in someones head then flee so dont get caught is what i thought i could do in ass creed. Also the fighting its button timed aint it, is there no way to do it real time as in oblivion style or somit. I dont want to have to learn to time attacks i just wana run in with a sword or the dagger on the hand thingy i think he has and kick some ass. As from the sound of it the fighting is like guitar hero where when icons show u gotta press buttons to time the attacks? Or am i mistaken?

Stealth is only necessary is some instances, mostly not to scare off your prey (assigned in missions) so you can approach and assassinate - the rest of the time you can run people over with your horse, kill civilians and take on the city guards until you get bored then run away and hide so the alert goes down.

This is not the stealthiest game ever, to give you an idea stealth in Assassin's Creed is nothing more than pressing a button and makes your character walk around holding his hands clenched together as if he were praying, but you can walk (albeit slower) around freely past guards etc... using that technique.

Just got it. Will install when I've a) done some work and b) sorted out Rome Total War.

Also the box art is really disappointing. That molecule makes absolutely no sense.

Best looking game i've got, beats Crysis hands down, imo. Able to run it at max in game setting, with full AA in DX10, and its smooth as silk. Looks amazing too:D

True it's a great looking game, but you can't say it beats Crysis.

Too early to judge Crysis since no system can truly run it high res, very high specs with all the perks AA etc...
