Assassin's Creed Unity

I played through it on Xbox One on release and did not find it to bad tbh. There was a few bugs but nothing game breaking and no more than most other games released lately.

I would disagree - most games released today are relatively flawless, look at some yt videos for unity's many almost comedic bugs pre patches. But as I said on the single player front you can play through the game fairly well, but the co-op is still incredibly laggy and buggy. Just nowehere good enough.

Well the DLC is a bit downbeat, a bit dull and as buggy and saddled with FPS problems as pre-patch Unity was. No wonder they gave it away for free tbh, probably to avoid having to devote resources to getting it to work properly.

really not sure if your being serious here, the amount of games shipped in the last 18 months that have required endless patching to be remotely fit for purpose has been higher than at any point in gaming.

To say most are "flawless" is, erm.... you are joking, right?

Most being those not released by ubi or ea. TLOU had no bugs, Infamous had no bugs, wolfenstein, moto GP and Killzone had no bugs. AC:U was an utter mess of bugs. Take shadow of mordor, a game of similar scale, released smoothly sans bugs. It is Ubi's haste to rush it out the door to meet pre-order hype that made the situation. Try the Co-op even 3 patches (3 hasty patches) later, it is still really a poor experience. At least EA to their credit got BF4 into a playable state eventually.

There are as many bugged games as flawless in my opinion. True it's the bigger publishers that release these messy bugged titles but gone are the days of ps1 quality on release games. They all need patching at some stage it seems.

Cant wait to start playing this again, been too busy with revision for uni exams and I'm itching to get back on. I love doing the multiplayer missions mainly, any of you guys play? Can you do private matches, I can't remember? I usually just play with randomers but want to do all the unlocks.

So I've been playing this on and off for a week now and am finally getting into it - think I'm on sequence 8.

The cut scenes are very nice, and I'm quite enjoying the story now. The jumps to different times in history is fun and the scene is very well done with the NPCs and the reproduction of Paris. The number of NPCs is impressive, but Arno clearly slows down when running through even a fairly small group - not something that massively bothers me, but noticeable.

The main problem is the terrible terrible controls! With all the extra moves this should be the easiest to get about Assassins Creed, but it's plagued with glitches and bugs. Times when he just wont jump up, or pull himself up, or jumps off in the wrong direction, or your clambering around and around a window and he just won't go in no matter how hard you pull the left trigger; or when you're in a fight and you press A to roll away and he goes into cover; or you're standing over a dead body to loot and instead he drops of the side of a building. The list just goes on and has caused huge amounts of frustration.

Also, they've gone a bit bonkers on the collectables - it's really pathetic now. Over 1000 chests in this game apparently. It's not like you have to get them, but in previous games I quite liked randomly finding one in my path and opening it up. In this... it's too much. It feels like their artificially bloating the size of the game, and I don't think they need to - it's actually got a lot of genuine content - like the murder puzzles, Nostradamus, Paris stories etc. The random events are very repetitive too... they're a good idea, there just should be more flavours of them.

Until my last session I was pretty bored of it and was just determined to finish it - but now I've actually got into and am enjoying it... phew. They really need to up their game on the next one... less chests, better parkour.

I've setup an OcUK club (on Xbone) since there didn't seem to be one before - guessing PS4 and xbone must be separate. Anyone free to join :)

I have to enjoyed the hours I've put into the game, but way too many chests, map is so messy due to them all, and I've collected a decent percentage already...

the jumping into Windows is so hit n miss, sometimes works flawless then other times not so much.. love how when you upgrade arno the cut scenes show new outfits, really is seamless, sometimes I forget the cut scenes have finished and stand there doing nothing when I should now move...

overall good game, Paris looks excellent and plenty to do, just a shame they realised it so glitchy...

out today, and free for anyone who had the Unity season pass. Seems like a poor Mark of the Ninja clone going off the hour I played.

Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China

Au $2.49 on cdkeys this weekend. Reduced from $67, presumed it was a mistake but just looked again and it's still there.

It's been low for a long time, i paid £4.99 for it month's ago and still have only played 8%, I play this for a few minutes after a Resi 7 session and the map is awful.

I only just recently played and completed Syndicate though which was fantastic IMO.
