Assassin's Creed Unity

If I'm an idiot gamer because I gloss over issues and actually have fun with the game, then so be it, I'd rather spend my time enjoying a game than moaning about it online, even if that does make me an idiot.

I'm about to join you in the idiots club as my copy arrived today. I've always enjoyed the assassins creed series of games and I would imagine the bugs in this game will be fixed far before they will in Destiny.

Can you even buy packs for HUT?

I had a look the other day out of curiosity and couldn't see them on NHL 15.

Yeah you can, when you go to view the packs you have a choice of either using coins or spending real money. I bought a few packs when it came out but haven't touched the game for about a month now!

Was hoping to give this a blast tonight... turns out the postman came 5 minutes before I got home and I need to collect it from the posting office tomorrow...Gutted :(

from eurogamer quote:

AC4:

Of course, Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag also included micro-transactions of a kind. You could pay 79p each to show all collectibles and activities on the game's map, £2.39 to skip finding all treasure maps, and £1.59 for a set lump of in-game consumable resources.
AC U:

Five packs of micro-transaction currency, named Helix Credits, are currently available to buy. The packs range in price from £3.99 to an eye-watering £64.99.

Helix Credits are used to "hack" better weaponry and gear that would otherwise be worth a huge amount of francs - the regular currency you find when searching dead enemies and in chests.

500 Helix Credits costs £3.99, 1400 costs £7.99, 3200 costs £15.99, 9000 costs £39.99 and 20,000 costs £64.99.

On the lower end of the scale, £1 is equivalent to 125 Helix Credits, but there are savings - if you can call them that - in buying bigger amounts. Buy the most expensive pack and each £1 you spend is converted into just over 300 Helix Credits.

But Ubisoft has defended the addition of the currency - the first of its kind within the series - and reassured that it does not unlock any item which can't be found within the main campaign

got my assassins creed unity today from tesco and noticed they have already slashed the price from £46 down to £40, i presume anyone that will have pre ordered for £46 will be refunded the £6?

I was going to wait, but then saw it in Tesco for £40 (PS4) and exchanged £5 worth of clubcard voucher points for double the amount, making the game £30 (doing the same the GTA on Tue) .... Anyway, I'm really liking it after a couple of hours play, and think it looks absolutely gorgeous, with amazingly detailed assets, and very atmospheric lighting. The frame rate is less than ideal, but its not a game-breaker so far, and I've yet to run into any major glitches. I'm liking it more than Black Flag at this point, and am glad I caved-in and bought it.

installed the 1.01 & 1.02 patch for PS4, started the game and it completely locked up 5 mins in.

not impressed, will come back to it after the next patch.

I noticed you was playing it on my friends list, did wonder how you got on with it, from the sounds not all that well... I'll pass for now as I'd already pretty much decoded. Get Dragon age instead that'll keep me busy for a while

I'm a few hours in now and remain pretty impressed. The jerky animations and frame-rate drop do start to get annoying though, and really do remove you from the experience. This is a shame as the detail in the city is astonishing.

It's honestly no where near as bad as the big, bad internet makes out - it's not 'broken' and plays well enough, it's just not nearly polished enough.

This....

All the talk about 'evil' Ubi and the rest the OTT nonsense surrounding this game, is simply indicative of the immaturity of the gaming community. The main fault in this game is was pushed out too soon, to meet a deadline, when it clearly needed a few months of polishing. What is also clear is there is an amazing world here to be explored, made with no small amount of passion and dedication; yet that gets overlooked in the mire of junk posted. This is only my second AC game, so I'm not jaded with the concept, and I'm finding the story and characters very enjoyable, and well crafted.

Like Scarysquirral I'm just going to enjoy this 'game' [its not life or death] and forget about all the dark conspiracy bullcocks :p

yeah, better off avoiding it for now. It might well be a good game, but the state its in right now is not fit for purpose.
