With my gaming time very limited these days and WoW taking 95% of it, I recently rummaged through my games and stumbled onto Assassins Creed. I bought it on release and sorta ...... forgot to play it. Installed and updated, went through the tutorials a few times to get used to the many keys. I then started playing what I thought was one of the best games I've ever played. Also got annoyed with myself that I never played this sooner.

I've only done the first assassination and I swear stabbing people in the neck never gets old. The cities are incredible, animation fluid, textures and lighting almost makes me reach out and trying to touch whatever is on my screen.
I've only been to Acre and Damascus, still have Jerusalem to visit which will also be a visual treat I bet.

Now the purpose of this post is to ask what the problems were people stumbled onto when playing this game. It seems like people either love this game or feel indifferent about it. There doesn't seem much hate for it. Does it get repetitive? Game world too big?

I've been waiting to try this for a while now. I've finally got a computer worth turning on, and there's so much to catch up on - I'm quite worried that I'll spend more on games from the last 3 years than I have on my rig. The THQ collector's pack will keep me busy for another month at least, but let me know how this turns out - I wants it.

Not that you really need to be told, but this is what WoW leads to. It's like crack, without the crack whores.

I personally think it was a brilliant game, but the repetitiveness put many people off as the missions from city to city don't vary at all.

Yeah I think most people either can get past the repetitiveness, or can't... or maybe can but still criticise the game for it. Myself being one of the latter, the game was superb and I loved the story but found myself by around the 5th block just wanting to get the missions over with as I was more concerned and looking forward to the story outside of the Animus more than the story inside.

Just the general main fault with the game is you to go City A, B or C and stab X, Y or Z after beating up people, sitting on benches and climbing towers. It's just the same deal with different scenery. That's not to say it's not fun though, it just grates after doing having to repeat it all 4 or 5 times.

One of the only games i've ever played where I truly disliked the main characters (Desmond/Altaïr) who leave nothing to the imagination and seem to excel at being arses.

I played for xbox and enjoyed but then got bored. Wanted to try for pc but waiting for price to come down. There will probably be a deal before ac2 comes out and it looks sexy.
