Assetto Corsa OcUK TT Challenge! *Season 3*

Thanks for hosting all of this by the way - being able to see everyones times has been very useful to learn the ropes.
You're welcome :) I'm glad you said that, because I always wanted this to be something people could use to help sharpen their skills and have good competition pushing them further, as well as just being something fun to do of course.

Maybe we can run a little Grand Prix of our own :D
I like it :D I'll check it out.
Reminds me, we gotta bring back the Honda Racing Mower at some point...

@darwin Kyalami is definitely on the roster :)

Welcome to all our new drivers and thank you for getting involved :)

I hope you guys have SOL installed...

Best to not use it tbh. It'll only teach you bad habits with braking point and stuff.
The best thing you can do is is just drive around the track and learn the layout.

Just in case anyone's finding the track a bit tricky with the car selection, I've added a Lotus 3-Eleven to the server.

It's fast and lively, but you can dial in the TC to make it a fun and fairly easy car to drive.

My apologies, but I made a whoopsie with the GT-R.

I gave you an improperly updated version of the car. The proper one has massively different physics/FFB, and drives more like you'd expect it to, which = faster laps.
You can fix this without downloading anything by doing the following in Content Manager:

Navigate to the JT5 2016 Shiro in your car selection menu and right click it (it's the first one in the list), then click 'open car in content tab' and close the car select window.
At the bottom of the screen, press the button labelled 'pack data' and let it overwrite the old one.

Done.

I've been thinking about doing a point to point challenge for a while actually. I'll look into it, as there can be certain issues.
That Goodwood hillclimb looks good, but it requires a whole bunch of stuff along with it, so not sure it'd be viable for this. Again, I'll look into it :)

cracking lap Pete, smashed sector 1! :)

Cheers, I reckon there's a 36 in there!

Some super laps there in the 1.38's and below in the Ferrari. If I did the perfect lap I could get about 1.39 even, keep messing up in sector 3. Time to give the Ferrari a break and try something else.
You need to add more rear wing. While your top speed is great, you're losing out in the tighter sections, which is where the time is found on here.
I'll see if I can do a video later

1:51 in the GT-R, **** me. No chance lol
LOL it's with the properly updated car. You'll be fine :) Respect for persevering in the old one though.

Also maybe a race could be on the cards during the lockdown?

Sure, although I'd lean more towards a novelty type of event involving less 'racy' vehicles to keep things fun and give everyone a chance.

I have front wing maxed and rear at 6, which was the lowest it would go and still allow me to take the esses like in the vid. It kind of is threading a needle tbf.
In my case, the relatively slow 2nd/3rd sectors were purely down to not getting a good exit onto the back straight and then a couple of questionable lines in S3 on that particular lap.

I don't think running low aero would help, as you'd lose more in the twisties than you'd gain on the straights IMO.

^ :)

I'm afraid I don't have the time to write wonderful things about you all, so all I'll say is well done and keep it up! :)
