Aston villa

Villa have basically gone about climbing the table in the correct fashion. They have bought players that are not massively out of the class of their existing squad and they've climbed the table at a steady pace. I don't think its possible to go up he league table any other way. There is an order, structure, stability and purposeful direction to Villa that basically 90% of clubs in the premier league lack.

O'Neill has spent a lot of money to get where he is. Moyes on the other hand has had nothing to spend and we are still fighting for a decent place..

Moyes has had a fortune to spend considering and he keeps on wasting it. The bloke is a grade a **** wit with money. Atleast MON is spending the money correctly.

Moyes needs someone to help him in the transfer market because he keeps failing. He bought baines as a left back and then put lescott there. He ruined Johnson and beattie with his lone striker **** when neither are up to the job. Then bought Yak and played a similar role for one of the most lazy forwards in the league.

Don't even get me started on fellani, he only paid big money for him because he had the money burning in the pocket from failing to snag Moutinho.

o'neil is good but i think fathead has done great things at wigan. Don't think he is a "big club" manager but can do great things at average clubs.

Level on points with Chelsea now and we have them at home soon, they might even be without Lampard, not that I agree with his sending off bit of a joke that one, ref is a wally.
Wont complain though as it helps us out, good thing Ashley Young has served his ban now and we got 4 points without him, oh how we miss Laurson aswell.

So, about that 4th place... :D

Got to admit, after United away we haven't really got any "difficult" games. If we can finish on 65 points then I'll be very happy. I conceded our chance at 4th as soon as Laursen went and we went out of the UEFA cup, the pressure started getting to the players. 5th place is our aim now, and we have to fully focus on it.

As said in the other thread I'm slightly fearful that Villa will take it. Don't forget Arsenal have the 3 other top-4 sides to play and could realistically take 0 points out of 9. Villa have UTD next so the gap could be 6 (7 with goal difference) so it's going to be close.

It depends, think it's hard to predict anything this season. Arsenal could easily get 8 players injured on international duty then lose their remaining games. Such a random season for Arsenal I wouldn't bet against anything.

I honestly can't predict 1st/2nd or 4th/5th.
I think it's too close to call. I don't think Chelsea will end up 1st or 2nd though, I think they will end up 3rd.

Arsenal have some tough games to come, but at the rate United are playing they're probably going to at least get 3 out of 9 points!

O'Neill has done the same as Jol did with Spurs.. until they decided that that wasn't good enough and sacked him, followed by destroying anything that had been achieved.

At least O'Neill doesn't seem to have board members who are impatient, willing to sell the clubs best players for profit, think they know more about football than their own manager and are willing to meet other managers 'in private' while claiming to have full support of the current manager.

Before Chelsea were bank rolled, Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd were the 3 teams that vied for the top3 positions year in year out.

No they weren't. It was manyoo and Arsenal that were going for the title, often pretenders included Liverpool, but weren't limited to them. Leeds were there and at points Newcastle too.
