Astra Injector immobiliser - query

Ran out of time today, absolute nightmare getting the injectors out of the old head and into the replacement unit (which got a new set of stem seals) Replaced all the rockers too, after i found "slight" wear ....

Wondering if the damage is from the cam wearing out or just bad lubrication.

Wel the middle rocker shouldn't look like that, it's been ground/worn away by the camshaft, the one on the left has light wear and the one on the right shouldn't be snapped like that

Put everything back together this afternoon/evening. Spent 1/2 an hour getting 2 injectors out of the old head, had to remove the core of the injector using a spanner, then soak and batter out the injector body using my 12v impact gun, AmDaMan bloody good find!

Smeared everything in greaseto keep it in place while refitting.

Cam timing - check.
Crank timing - check.
Pump timing - check.
Bleed through to back of injector pump - check.
Bleed through to injectors - check.

Then the sodding battery ran out  Arse.

Grub, brew, go back out and try again.

:D IT RUNS! :D

And sounds like an absolute bag of spanners as i'd pumped the old oil out of the lifters. Let it run for a minuets, then gave it an oil change (going to do another one with an engine flush in a week to be sure everything to running smoothly.)

So i'm letting the engine tick over for a minute or so (RATTLE RATTLE RATTLE)and the wife pops out with a fresh brew and mentions it's 9.30. Umm, bit late for this much noise then, oops!

Rain stops play, but it will be out of my way tomorrow :D

And now the really un-funny bit, the guy who runs the shop downstairs from our flat mentioned (this afternoon) that he's got a friend who needs to get rid of a p-reg astra TD before the weekend,it's a side smack write-off, would i like it for bits for the wifes car? ...... S.O.B.! could have bleeding mentioned this a week ago!

Sweet, it's alive :D

How do you find the 12v gun, anygood?

Ironic really, as a mates td Astra (gm motor) van died, turned over but sounded iffy like it was low on compression on one cylinder, when dragged it wouldn't run on it's own accord and when rolled down a hill to bump start it chucked loads of grey smoke out and still wouldn't run.

Any ideas? It's been scrapped now (a few weeks ago) but it did have 260k on the clock..
