Astra K 1.6 Turbo thoughts? Got one?

test drove the new astra 1.6cdti 136bhp auto. thoguht it was very good. i rate it over focus 1.5 diesel auto,

the engine is quiet and very smooth. smoother than my F30 320d engine :(

edit: i know this thread is about 1.6 turbo petrol. just saying i like the new astra overall

That 1.6 diesel is pretty good. I had it in an Astra in single-turbo guise as an auto, and then in bi-turbo guise with a manual. Now I've got the regular one in an Insignia with a manual and it's fine for the motorway and driving around town. Not so great cross-country though.

Excuse the thread bump.

Test drove the Astra 1.4T (150bhp) and 1.6T (200bhp) Astra K very recently, currently driving a 1.9 Astra CDTi (150bhp) with DTUK tuning box, 115k miles on the clock and a poorly M32 gearbox.
Wasn't blown away by performance but this may have been down to my adaptation from driving the diesel for the last 4 years.

The extra refinement, comfort and mod cons were very welcome. I've put a deposit down on a 1.6T in white with many extras which was ex vauxhall director executive car with 6k miles.
Naturally going to expect less MPG than I get now (50~) but I'm also doing less miles and put off my diesels because of DPF issues and 'dirty diesels' in the news..

Also looked at leasing.. my annual mileage which is now only 10k seems to make this a wasted option.

Has anyone else have any first hand experience of the K?

Why are they still using the word 'Turbo' as a selling point on their cars? Every car and it's dog has a turbo now, saw a new nearly new Astra yesterday with Turbo on the tailgate and I cringed as it says they are aiming it at a specific customer.
