Astro A50 issue

I got a pair of A50s and they're driving me up the wall. Thew sound is intermittent in games, I've tried both Dying Light and Minecraft.

I've got it connected as optical for sound and USB for speech.

I've updated the firmware, still no joy.

Any idea what could be causing this?

Right, played some music via Youtube and it's cutting out there too.

Never had this with my Tritton Pro+ cans.

Are they new? have you checked the settings for the sound card?

Did you update the firmware on both the base and headset and did you re-pair them after doing each?

If you've done all that, try a different USB cable/usb port, it may be some weird problem causing a power issue.

I've used A50's for years and never had a problem with them on PC or any consoles.

I actually managed to sort it, rather embarrassingly. I plugged them in to my PS4 to eliminate the PC and in doung so, found the optical cable unplugged

Silly me.

I must admit, I am completely blown away by these things. I would never had thought that this could make such a difference, it's literally night and day.

I had a similar thing where it turned out to be the cable to the headset it's self. Even sometimes now it comes undone and I'm swearing at the thing until I remember :')
