same here. recently moved from Sennheisers to headphones + modmic and the first thing everyone said was that the mic wasnt as good.

excellent writeup on the astro stuff. we have our stock in now and it is shipping so would be good to get some more feedback from users.
 
I got my A50s for xmas, Only annoying factor that I have ever found with them, is that I can't remove the mic! Having a studio mic already I don't need it. The build in mic was close to the studio mic tbh, just wasn't as good else I would have just used that all the time instead.

But the wireless on them is great. being able to walk and sit on the loo while not having to pause music ect late at night is a god send.

People say the A40 is better due to mix amp. But I disagree the A50 has a mixamp, but its just built in. I've had a few headsets and this one is top notch. Just like diddums has said really, I agree with everything he has said.
 
Which platform will you use them mostly on ?

mixamp plus sennheiser Best combo
350s if you want closed headphones or 360s for open
I find the 360s better for long gaming sessions as my ears can breath

You can't go wrong getting the a40s plus mixamp
the only problem I have had with my astros was the usb power cable was not sufficient To power the mixamp which caused it to randomly shut down While gameing
