ASUS a68HM-PLUS BIOS issues?

I got this old Mobo and I want to get it running to make another HTPC and for some strange reason, its not letting me do anything in the BIOS???

If I do any adjustments, it does not sqave any settings?

It will also NOT boot up on its own. It tries to boot from IP4 first then IP6 and the SSD is in its list, but it wil not boot from it and instead, just says PRESS F2 to go into the BIOS.

Now, I can force it to boot from the SSD from inside the BIOS and then the thing seems to run just fine, but it simply will NOT do anything with the BIOS.

I have tried to update the BIOS or just change the BIOS to any other version, or itself, but I cannot find a BIOS App that works in Windows and the Inbuilt Bios Updater app in the BIOS, will not see the file in the USB drive, even through I have multiple copies and with various filenames.

I cvannot finmd anything in the Board that will lock the BIOS, so I hope I mnot just simply missing that, but why would I be missing it when I have not done anything like put in jumpers or take them out???

Im just kind of lost on this one... Anyone know what the hell I am missing?

Have you tried changing the battery? All sorts of weird things can happen with a dead or dying battery. Any CR2032 should do the job.

Yeah, the battery did nothing. Of course I changed it anyway, but in this iinstance, is was NOT the battery.

I have since then, found a BIOS File that has worked. Its old, but thankfully I hoard files and so this one worked and it is now fully working again.
