Thought I would post an update regarding this situation. I have had no success.
Normally the first place I come to for help are these forums as most common questions are answered. When someone brought up the CrashFree BIOS I spent hours upon hours of searching, reading and learning how this thing works. I have managed to find one or two people on the internet who got this to work for them via various methods and some methods which are not recommended. The problem with CrashFree Bios is that the "howto" is not explained very well.
I ended up creating System boot CDs with the BIOS and the tool needed for the board to do its thing but it simply does not work. I've spent another 6 or so hours tonight swapping the board in and out and trying various methods which has only given me a bad back in bending over to remove screws/connect wires etc etc.
So I have requested an RMA.
Such a shame the crashfree bios does sound very good, shame it is poorly documented.
I'm about to flash my bios this evening using EZ-Flash 2 and a USB stick, what does the stick need to be formatted as in order to be seen, FAt or FAT32?
