I've had my Overclockers branded Clevo P170em with the amd 7970m for about 3 years, and as someone has offered me £600 for it, I thought it might well be time to upgrade. After looking at all the Laptops available, the Asus G752vt with the Nvidia 970m or the Asus G752vy with the 980m seem the ones to suit my requirements best. [after owning a Clevo I'd rather have a cooler, quieter Laptop]!! :D

Anyone know if Overclockers will stock the G752vy at some point??

Or is the G752vt with the 970m good enough?.

Project Reality is my main game at the moment. But will be looking to move on to Squad as it comes out of beta ,with a bit of Arma 3 on the side!!

That is the GL752VY which has the 960M. The "L" makes all the difference. :-)

Hi Mogleys. I think Amazon have got there product title wrong because there is no GL752vy only a GL752vw. Under the tech details it states product item :

Item model number G752VY-T7048T Which is the one with the 980m

Pulled the trigger on the Asus g752vy on Amazon for £1600. it came today so can confirm its got Nvidia 980m.
Also some nice freebies Asus Cerberus Gaming Headset,ROG Sica Optical Wired Gaming Mouse and A ROG Nomad Notebook Rucksack.Well impressed wasn't expecting any of that ;);) The look and feel of it is a huge step up over the Clevo.
Currently doing the 3 gig November windows update Can't wait now to download a few games and get stuck in!!!!:D

Thats one problem. I've just gone into the Bios press F9 save & exit I can now confirm G sync enabled. There is a driver update to do as well but I'm busy the next couple of days so won't be able to play around with it till the weekend.:D

Seems strange ? Have you tried updating the bios ?

Hopefully I will get the accessories too really will be a bonus and save a few quid.

No I'm going to hold off updating to 208 some people seem to be having issues.
There is a firmware update for the graphics card though which i have installed.

How you finding the G752 mine still has not arrived. Delayed until Tuesday according to Amazon I'm betting it's been pinched by the delivery people.
What a bummer how frustrating for you!
Just 2 small niggles for you to sort out when it arrives
Go the bios press f9 to enable G-sync
Delete Asus game first because it causes Nvidia G Force experience to hang.
Fantastic machine G-sync makes a huge difference even the built in headphone amp is pretty decent ,it'll definitely be worth the wait!! Hope Amazon give you a little something for the aggro ;)

Sorry to hear that. I only ever use headphones so won't have noticed any popping noise .I'm using akg k702 pleasantly surprised by how good the built in headphone amp is.

Hi Moogleys mines much quicker loading then that haven,t looked in the service area yet will have a look later . Might be worth asking the question on the Asus site but can't say I've noticed anyone else with that problem.
Do you think someone has had it before you and have been messing around with it???

Played abit of Squad and warships tonight max temp of 75 gpu 65 cpu just tried to download heaven valley but was going to take 2 hours to download. After 20 minutes of Internet browsing the temp had dropped to 52 Gpu 48 cpu with the fan gently humming . Nowhere near as loud as my old Clevo which sometimes sounded as though it was going to take off.

Hope you have better luck with the next one.

On battery power only this time. The temp was 60 degrees could the power brick make 5 degree difference in temp????

I haven't noticed any warming of that side of the laptop but I do only use headphones. Much as I find the built in headphone amp ok ,I'll probably end up plugging my Asus u7 back in I miss the big volume knob.
Just on a side note I've just update my Tom Tom map onto the Sd card can't get over how quick it transferred the files over well impressed!!
