Just how far can you push the voltage on a 7970 cuII Top using VGA Hotwire?

The card is voltage locked from the factory but I can't find any info about what Hotwire let's you push through it


don't suppose you can shed any light ?
 
I dont have the guide for that card.

You need the hotwire guide amd software/ Bios to remove OCP.

I have used it on 680 and 780 Direct CU and you can actually go to like 2v if you wish on mem and DRAM.
 
Don't pseudo you could recommend a good ROG mobo that supports hotwire?


This over clocking malarkey is about to get expensive :)

Rest of my spec is

2600k
H100 cooler
8 gig hyper x ram

Silly question but I take it there's nothing else that supports hotwire that's slightly less eye watering price wise


Almost temping me to just flash the bios on my gpu instead :)

what do you mean by guide and flashing the bios?


I was under the impression with the hotwire it was a case of solder it to the card then plug it into the mobo. and that unlocked the higher voltages.

what exactly do I need other than a suitable and rather expensive ROG board :)
