ASUS Maximus V Formula or Rampage IV Formula?

I'm going to build a new PC next month, purely for gaming. I'll be using 2 card SLI and my trusty Essence STX Sound Card. I'm on air (so no comedy voltage) and just want a nice 24/7 OC without spending weeks setting it up, plus good PCI-E spacing.

I've narrowed it down to two options; the ASUS Maximus V Formula with a 3770k or the Asus Rampage IV Formula with a 3820.

Which would you go for? Both seem good options and the price difference between them is not worth worrying about.

Price is about the same, performance when overclocked the X79 will be marginally slower. Socket 2011 has a potential upgrade path to Ivy bridge -e in the future, socket 1155 has no more planned upgrades. On that basis I would go for the X79 for the additional features and prospect of upgradeability at the same price.

Rampage !! X79 is much more fun to tune than Z77
