Hey guys

I seem to be having a problem with the built-in Wireless on the P5K-E.

Basically I'm not sure what's going on, but it will randomly drop the connection to the router but it's as if it's switched itself off...As in it doesn't just drop the connection but I also get the little network-and-RedX icon at the bottom as if I've manually switched off wireless capability. (see pic)

To fix this I have to go into device manager, disable the antenna and then re-enable it and it will reconnect /reload until the next time this happens.

Tried reinstalling drivers, tried a format. Nothing seems to work. Power saving is switched off so I don't think Vista is shutting it down but maybe I've missed something?

thanks

They all seem to do this. I have both an Asus P5WDH & P5K Premium with what appears to be the exact same poor Asus wifi card/antenna and they both do the same thing which is really annoying.

To get around this I used another PCI-E wifi card from Abit on 1 machine & the other I rewired an extension cable for my router so that it is back on the LAN connection again.

that is incredibly irritating..the whole reason I went for the P5K-E was for the built in wireless or else I would've got the Abit IP35 Pro. Is Asus aware of this/planning a fix? It's really not possible to run a wire to the router from where I am and buying another wireless card would just be taking the mick.
