Hi All,
I have an Asus P5N-D mobo and have just recently added a Corsair Force 3 SSD drive to my setup. I did a fresh install of Win7 64bit onto the ssd. I am using the standard MS ide controllers and followed a ssd optimisation guide to fine tune performance. The mobo I have does not support ACHI but I have read that this should not affect performance by much.
Benchmarking the drive with both ATTO and Crystal Disk Mark report max write speeds of 110 MB/sec and read of 128 MB/ses. I know my mobo is only sata II but I did expect speeds of in excess of 200 MB/s.
I have even went to the expense of buying an Sil3132 sata II expansion card and tried running the benchmarks with the ssd attached to this. The results are almost exactly the same.
Does anyone have this mobo with an ssd running as fast as it should? Can anyone help me find the root cause to this problem i.e. slow ssd performance?
Any advice is most welcome.
Thanks
