I've had a glance on OcUK and i've not seen these Motherboards available as yet but i'm thinking of purchasing with the following:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6400, Socket 775, 2.13 GHz, 1066MHz FSB, Allendale Core, 2MB Cache, Retail.

2GB (2x1GB) Corsair TwinX XMS2, DDR2 PC2-6400 (800), 240 Pins, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 4-4-4-12, EPP, Retail.

Asus P5N32-E SLI NF680i SLI, S 775, FSB 1333, PCI-E (x16), DDR2 533/667/800, SATA II, SATA RAID, ATX, Retail.

Is this a decent gaming setup, waiting till beginning of the new year to purchase the Graphics Card and Microsoft Windows Vista. Also whats the difference between this version and the Asus Extreme Striker.

This is a totally different Motherboard to whats been mentioned and i can't see how it's spamming simply asking a questions. Is there any harm in this i though that was the purpose of using a forum for those who don't know.

you could have asked a question in that thread, as it was not specific about any motherboard in particular. and if people had this board in mind when you stated you wanted a good motherboard between your price ranges i'm sure they would have said it.

At the end of the day does it really matter if i did ask this question here as this is Motherboard related not CPU? I know what CPU to go for simply looking for some decent answers. I'm really edging to not order from OcUK again as some of the attitudes i have come across is starting to get totally out of order simply because i don't know enough about hardware.

EDIT: I can hardly call this a class of spamming. People can change their mind and up their budgets to suit their requirements which is simply the case that i've done.

You dont need a totally new thread to ask the questions that you have already been given the answers too do you?

Unless you want to up your post count.

I have suggested what to get.

You have ignored my advice.

Believe it or not I do know what I am talking about.

No one suggested you go for the 6400
You stipulated that you did not want to spend close to 200 on a mobo.

And yet that mobo you metion is near enough £180

I've no interest in up'ing my post count as i can't see what it will achieve, i can up my budget if i wish and i didn't ignore your advice i simply took heed of what you said and went with Intel, also i didn't say you didn't know your stuff?

Launch is now expected end of February apparently.

I have noticed other online retailers are selling these Motherboards but wanted to buy it all in one go on OcUK saving me Postage and Packaging.

Thanks for a decent answer.

Thanks for a decent answer.

They are not selling them - they are taking orders for them. They are two very different things.

Not naming any sites but i noticed they had stock and could purchase now maybe a mistake on their behalf maybe.

EDIT: is there any difference in the ECS and EVGA Motherboards because they noticed they are exactly the same layout and specification wise? Really interested in the new 680i now.

I've had some deep thought into all this and i've decided to go with the 680i Motherboards for future use using SLi but im unsure which one to get? The ECS which i have not read a lot on nor the EVGA Motherboards are they both good brands.

Decided to go with this setup:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6400, Socket 775, 2.13 GHz, 1066MHz FSB, Allendale Core, 2MB Cache, Retail.

2GB (2x1GB) Corsair TwinX XMS2, DDR2 PC2-6400 (800), 240 Pins, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 4-4-4-12, EPP, Retail.

They are identical. Absolutely identical apart from the stickers and the boxes. Somone on here flashed the ECS with the EVGA BIOS and it works identically.

LOL! thats cool is there any reviews of the ECS Motherboards, i've read the one review about the EVGA very tempted to go with the ECS as it's cheaper.

Would i have any problems with the memory i'm using i did read somewhere about Motherboards being picky with certain brands of memory.

Ah cheers for that will make a post in there later today see what the Motherboard is like.

It tells you what the board is like - it's identical to the EVGA. What more do you need to know?
