Asus P5Q-E Wont boot

It should be a standard on most motherboards. I know my old A7N8X range had post reporter.

Update

So, replaced the Mobo with a P5Q Turbo and it worked for a few days.....then the problem happened AGAIN!!

The only thing I can think of now is the PSU, that its being overloaded and not even managing to boot. Its a 650w Antec TruePower, all the online wattage calculators Iv done, even with completely maxing out all my components, come out at around 500w.

I RMA'd it this morning to OC, hopefully that'll be where the fault is, because other than that I have no other ideas.

I also fitted a POST beeper to the Mobo and the times that it did boot up, everything went fine.

Looking at the specs on the first post of the thread, do you think 650w is enough? I really cant see why it wouldn't be, even with the Antec 900's case fans/all my usb devices (mouse, keyboard, HDD, speakers)!!

Sad times

I was having a similar problem with my P5Q Pro.

It would start up after a CMOS reset, allow you into the BIOS, but then wouldnt boot up after you saved the correct settings (although the settings did save). So you'd have to remove the power cord for 30 seconds or so (till the light went out) and then it would boot up normally.

If you tried to restart the computer via windows, it simply would refuse to boot again. Even if you turned it off via windows, and then on again, it wouldn't work.

Since i have upped most of my CPU/RAM settings past their requirements and it seems to be ok. Turning off C1E and speedstep was one thing i was told to do. After setting the NB voltage to 1.3v, and SB to 1.2v, as well as enabling load line calibration, i've had no problems any more (fingers crossed).

For the record, im running a Q9500, 8gb DDR2 (although i have 4 in atm just because i dont want to mess with it incase it stops working again!), 1x4870 1gb, 2x HDD, 1xDVD-RW, 5xcase fans in Antec 902 running from a BeQuiet 550W PSU.

Well Im glad to hear you at least found a solution to it, cause its really starting to bug me.

I mean, yeah lets says there's a 'compatibility' issue with the P5Q-E, I understand that. But after I swapped it with the P5Q Turbo and it happened again, the common factor must come back to the PSU.

Thanx for the spec, I was just about to ask. My friend is running much the same as me and he has a 550w too, which points away from it being underpowered. Ha, yeah when I had mine working during the week, i hadnt connected the DVD drive and I was like Im not touching it. I then got brave, paped in my USB speakers and then it told me where to go again.

I cant do anything just now, i'll just have to wait to see what OC have to say about it....but, god forbid, the PSU is faultless, i'll clear the CMOS and give what you have done a go.
