Overpriced and overrated IMO.

Save your self 100 quid and get a DS3 with that 6400

notice you,ve got the P5W DH. how do you find it. looking for a decent upgradeable board. torn between P5,s either wdg2 ws pro, w dh or on another track ds4 dq6 maybe. but drawn towards the asus boards at the moment

Well I should have one coming tommorrow so I will be able to give you a real hands on opinion.

I'm currently running a BadAxe which is so far is the best Conroe board I have owned. I have also used a DS4, P5B and P5W DH. So it would be interesting to see how this board compares.

BadAxe 2 should be in my hands soon

What Bios do you recommend m8 ?
I'm using the latest official one - 0215. There's a 0301 BIOS knocking about as well but I haven't tried it yet. Probably going to wait until the next official one which should hopefully fix the Asus cold-reboot "feature" that this and their other boards have.

so you recommend the asus board then. whys it so much better than the dh model. if you dont mind cheers
My DH wouldn't do more than 410FSB no matter what I did, whereas this new board is doing 430FSB and I haven't even pushed it yet. Plus I liked the idea of having another PCI-e slot for an ATI Physics card or whatever in the future.

i haven't seen many 975x boards which aren't ***hand selected*** do orthos/prime stable @ more than 430, yet you say you haven't pushed it?

got some screens?

;)

damn i had my mind all set for a p5b-dlx even though i really want a 975 board, i'd be pi**ed if i got a W64 that stopped at 400 though like some peoples.

I'd say 3.6Ghz easy... depends on how good the air cooling is.

Phase makes quite a difference to everything really.. can run lower voltage to achieve the same overclocks... possibly higher FSB too.

i had my heart set on asus P5W DH now im thinkin P5W64 WS PRO seeemmms tempting
Well, it depends on just how much you need to overclock really, and whether you think you're likely to use the extra PCI-e slots later.

I needed a board that I didn't have to worry too much about FSB limiting me, and I knew the P5W64 was better than the P5W-DH in that respect. The only reason I really decided to change from the P5W-DH was because Im on phase, and have an ES CPU - so FSB was very important.

The P5W-DH should in theory be good enough for most people though.

ok cool. so if i was going to get the P5W-DH and some good ram i would have no trouble overclocking to 3.6? all i want realy is a stable board..and not to have to mess about 2 much...and it like if i buy a lotus and i thrash it around i may get the same performace but i will have my foot down al they way..wereas if i got a ferrari i could get the same performace easier without putting my pedal 2 the metal.....Hahaha strange analogy.but hey :)
