asus p658xd-e with vortex 3

iam currently having to run it off the sata 2 ports ,when i tried it with the sata 3 ports i carnt get it to detect the drive, AHCI is enabled as is the marvell controller ,it wont even find my 1tb 6gbs WD black,

any ideas how i can get the drives to work on the sata 3 ports has i would like to get a bit more speed out of the vortex 3

If it wont even detect the drives I would have a close look in the BIOS to see if you have missed a setting where you have to choose between SATA 2 and SATA 3 speed.

everything is set to what it should be in bios has far has i no ,ive gone throu the bios umpteen times and read the print off the page of the user manual ,ive got the marvell sata 6gb drivers installed

iam thinking it could be that the sata6gb ports aint working

anymore ideas ??
