Hi guys,

Just got my sandybridge set up yesturday, Asus P8P67 Pro and 2500k.

Now I started reading around about overclocking and found the thread in the CPUs section telling you what voltages not to exceed etc.

I also did some digging on all the Asus settings in the motherboard and came across another thread in another forum, telling you to set lots of settings to extreme.

However, I read that these extreme settings were if you want to get 5ghz+

I just want something like 4.8, I did put the settings on Extreme last night, and with 1.35v VCORE I easily hit 4.8 and did some gaming fine. but thought I would Prime95 it this morning and it blue screened.

So just wondering exactly what settings should be changed etc. And is it ok to run an unstable Prime95 oc. because I read in that forum that many settings were turned to extreme just to stop the prime95 from BSOD'ing.

hey there namesake :D

I got these settings and my 4.8 Overclock is rock solid.

1.36V core (I am prime 95 stable at 1.35 but BSOD on light load )
1.125 VCCIO
1.70625 PLL
LLC Ultra high
Internal PLL overvoltage Disabled
VRM Frequency manual
VRM Fixed Frequency mode 350
Phase Control Extreme
Duty Control Extreme
CPU Current capability 120%

Hope this can help
