asus p8p67 problems.

Hi.
Just finished building a new pc and started it up for the first time. I am getting 1 continues beep followed by 3 short beeps. In the book it says that this is due to no vga being detected. I have checked that it is all correctly plugged in and it is still giving the same error.
Is there anything I can do to get this to work?

What gpu do you have?

What psu do you have?
And what have you plugged in to the gpu?

Corsair Enthusiast Series TX 650W PSU
Power is obviously plugged in and plugged the hdmi into the monitor. Did not work. Tried an old CRT monitor and still same problem.

Do you have another PCI-e card to test incase its the card?

Ok the monitor has nothing to do with the problem.

First you need to make sure 100% that you have connected the power correctly.
If you have the gpu in pci-x slot one try slot Two.

Tried both the slots and the power is connect properly.
Tried another graphics card and that worked and got a screen displayed.

Ok so this card has 2 x 6pin connection for power.
Has two 6 pin plugs been connected or just the one?

It has 2 x 6 pin. Tried with 1, tried with both and also tried with the Y-molex -> Pci cable and that still has not worked.

one more thing if the power is all connected correctly is the fan running on the card?

Yes, the fan is running on the card.

Sounds like a faulty gpu to me.
Repost this in the graphics card section of the forum and you might get a better answer.
