My current motherboard a P8Z68 deluxe gen 3 is looking like the 6gb sata ports/controller is playing up as a drive randomly drops off. I'm still investigating but if this is the case what's the best bet to replace it with?
I rather like Asus boards as I've been very happy with this so would the Asus P8Z77-V DELUXE Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) be the best bet for replacement?

Thanks

If you want a budget board then the Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H is a fine board especially for overclocking on a budget.

It doesn't come with all the bells and whistles but it was good enough for me to replace a Asus P8P67 that I damaged.

It has USB 3.0 and SATA 6GBytes which is all I really required and don't need XFire or SLI capability.

It cost me £ 64.75 ex VAT delivered from a competitor where my Asus P8P67 cost £ 100 ex VAT but I did get it as soon as it was released.

Not worried about a budget board, just looking for the equivalent of my current board just the next step onwards.

what hdd's you using? and what fw? latest mb bios?

I have the same board as you and its fine with Samsung/Seagate and corsair ssd

tested with different sata cables?

Just popped a thread in general to make sure I've not missed anything, been working smooth as silk for a year+ till thursday, so can't see it being a bios/fw issue as nothing has changed at all.
