Asus rog PG279Q or PG348Q - Which one?

I can literally count on one hand the number of people I've seen who have tried ultrawide and not liked it. Its amazing-ness is virtually unanimous (unless you get a duff panel of course), and going back to 16:9 afterwards is like a step back in history. 99% of the naysayers have never even tried it, they just make assumptions without the experience.

I've noticed this too and generally it is those same people who constantly keep harping on about the support for it being terrible :o They would have had a point 2/3+ years ago...

Of course, there are a few who have tried it and genuinely not liked it and then there are some that just couldn't be bothered to look for a fix for certain older games despite the fixes being incredibly easy to apply 99% of the time... Over the last 1-2 years with most PC games being awful on release day, I spend more time tweaking graphics just to get the games looking good and holding 60FPS and then sometimes having to do additional fixes/tweaks to avoid bugs. People with SLI/crossfire will have to go through even more faff to ensure they get multi-GPU working without any issue i.e. trying multiple profiles, driver versions out to avoid flickering, micro-stuttering, low scaling usage etc. etc.

I want to remain on 21.9 for as long as possible as it really is a game changer but... if 16.9 screens get the better tech. such as full array zone backlighting (like the upcoming asus HDR 144HZ 4K gsync monitor), OLED, HDR etc. as well as being considerably cheaper than 21.9 versions or/and there is no word on 21.9 monitors getting this tech. any time soon then I'll reluctantly jump ship for the better contrast ratio, black depth etc. etc.
