Asus ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP | 1440p | 480hz

Just bought it for a decent price, expect it to come Sunday/early next week.

All set for when 5090 drops then

Got the monitor today,

This is the definition of a monitor purely built for competitive gaming, the brightness is poor even in a dark room (for my liking) but the responsiveness of my inputs now is insane, I'll try out some settings shared by others here.

I do notice the matte coating when using windows but not at all in games.

Also confirms for me we need a 4K 480hz display as soon as possible.

Anyone who is rocking a 4K 240hz display I'd say stay where you are unless you really want that responsiveness.

As much as I enjoy the S90c I really hope Samsung or LG drop a 4K 240hz OLED TV asap.

when you say it’s dark, what settings are you using? Have you got HDR enabled in windows?

I ended up copying your non hdr settings to beef up the brightness a bit more :) and the same for in game settings, not really impressed with HDR 90% of the time in games as the brightness takes a hit vs non hdr quite dramatically even on good tv's most of the time.

Non HDR brightness is acceptable.

Ok cool. Yes HDR brightness will def be limited especially if viewing windows desktop and SDR applications within that mode. That’s why I wanted to check :) HDR mode should be good for true HDR content though, but won’t get as bright as a modern OLED TV. Although whether you’d want it to from a close up position is also questionable

thanks for the update mate. I agree a 4k 480hz monitor would be nice :)

Played Overwatch 2 get 480hz comfortably
Valorant also get 480hz
FC25 300hz
Black Ops 6 310-370 fps on nuketown
Xdefiant easy 480hz as well

Put most visual settings down to low without really testing if I could push it further last night and gpu left at default levels.

Still rubbish at Valorant and Overwatch 2 but my kdr on black ops 6 doubled instantly at least and in xdefiant felt lethal as well if I used my main mouse and keyboard.

Will try out a few other games and see what I can pump out.

But Overwatch 2 and Valorant I feel I'm below average even with the monitor,

Forgot to try out CS2 so will do that tonight as well.

I'd love an OLED monitor but is burn-in still a thing as my PC is alway on either working or playing

OLED G9 cranked to max brightness, no issues for the 6-7 months I owned it.

S90C cranked to max brightness no issues and a few thousand hours later no burn in, even leaving desktop tabs at bottom all day, I just always leave pixel shifting on if it's available.

OLED TV's are levels above any monitor

apparently it's still a thing.

Imagine buying a samsung monitor because it's brighter than the others.
then Samsung release a firmware to throttle the brightness back...

16:9 content seems to ruin them, if it means the monitor has black bars at the sides, she says only use them for gaming.
I guess the trick is buy a 16:9 monitor or watch your content in something that lets you crop the screen and cut a tiny bit off to fill the whole screen.

It's kind of annoying cos I really want a new monitor but I do tons of browsing and stuff on this pc

does anyone do a monitor arm where one screen sits ontop of the other, but the top screen can be brought down in front of the other for gaming?

Getting 220-300 fps in BF2042 low settings
330-490 fps in F124 Low settings
300 fps in Apex Legends (engine limit, maybe like FC25) low settings
Rocket League easy 480hz on low settings

Still to try out RB6 and about to play Deadlock for the 1st time.

the 5090 hopefully lets me get consistent frames closer to 400-480 across more titles or next AMD cards, if they're 800 cheaper :P

Hello,
I'm looking for people who have this monitor just like I do.
I've noticed that the brightness or contrast is way off when going with lower refresh rate, I'd like to know if I'm the only one with the issue.

To explain it correctly, when using gsync, I can see that I don't have 'true black' pixels in games. It's like there is a tiny but noticeable while veil in the picture. When I go back to full 480hz, the issue is gone and I have a true OLED experience like expected.

The issue is VERY noticeable in COD6 main menu for example. The background is mostly dark with gray squares. If I have the game at 120hz the background contrast is incorrect. At 480hz, it's perfect.

Is also noticeable in Shadows of the Tomb raider, the shadows aren't true black line what an OLED experience should be, it looks like an LCD.
Both tests were done using HDR.

It basically means that gsync must be off to get a good picture since 480fps isn't realist.

Does any one else have the issue? Cheers
