Asus rog thor 2 1200 watt free 4090 cable

So you have to use the adapter anyway? This is the only reason I’ve pre ordered the Thor 1600w. Isn’t that one of the main selling points?

There is a cable in the box but I think it's more for the 3090ti, as I've said I'll buy the cablemod cable that plugs into the psu for the 4090 in case I get one, cablemods has confirmed that I can use this cable with my 3090ti.

Bit of a strange one really. The place I ordered mine from told me I wouldn’t need to use the adapter with the 4090 and although over £700 for a psu is a little over the top to say the least, I really don’t like the thought of using an adapter so……Might as well get a seasonic for cheaper if this is the case.

I'm happy with mine the Braided cables are nice, free cable combs and the oled is great to see your power draw, I was very surprised by that.
Yeah it’s a great psu but was assured it came with the cable for the 4090. I will contact the place before cancelling just to be sure.

From what I’ve read they should have delayed it to make a native 5.0, but instead just put an adapter in and a sticker on the box. The cable it comes with it will be fine but it’s an adapter. Bit crap really for the price.

Like I've said I'll use the cable I got in the box with my 3090ti and buy a cablemod with four connectors later if I get a 4090,my psu has the fan button at the back of the psu weird the 1600 don't have one.

Asus has just emailed me for proof of purchase and my address so ill update when i know more.
What have you asked them if you don’t mind?

I’m more pi…d at the place I ordered my 1600w Thor from. They told me it would definitely just be the 16pin from the psu, when in fact it doesn’t. The new one coming out does however the Loki I believe it’s called. They do seem to be at the lower end wattage wise though.
