Asus rog thor 2 1200 watt free 4090 cable

The extra cable for the 4090
The fact is, it doesn’t have a 16pin socket on the psu so is in fact fake PCIE 5.0. Better to wait until they release the fully capable PSU in December. Thankfully I saved myself over £700.

Nah I'm happy with the 1200 got everything I need for now, don't fancy beta testing the atx 3.0 psu's
The 1200w Corsair would have been cheaper, but as long as your happy.

It’s been sort of miss sold in the sense that it was supposed to be pcie 5.0 ready for “next gen GPU’s. Technically you do get a 16 pin cable but only an adapter.

I’m glad I seen this post first. It’s a complete rip off.

Done some digging today and the cable that comes with these PSU’s are better than the NV ones, so shouldn’t be any issues touch wood. Corsair are releasing the same or a similar cable with their current PSU’s in the near future. It is a 16 pin direct to the GPU but split into two into the PSU.

End of the day I’m not waiting until next year to build my system around a cable, that if anything goes wrong is under warranty anyway.

It seems like the ROG Thor are the only ones that ship with this adapter right now, so that’s a bonus .
