Asus Sabertooth x79

Building for the first time and don't want to wreck anything.
I have an ssd and two hard discs plus an optical drive.

I have 32gb installed but it appears to only see 16gb - solved not seated properly.

What other info would be required to advise the best way to go through the ASUS bios set up (it is not the current bios).

I have read so much I don't know where to start!

Just go slow once your in bios load optimised defaults, do you plan on ocing if not just built it and leave it be if you are go to the overclocking section and follow 8packs x79 guide

Don't intend to overclock just yet but intend to once I get the PC up and running - thanks for the link.

It is just read and keep your instruction books close i still have to look at it to remember the layout of my boards you get knowledge through experience but having the guide to look at sure helps me lol

Have gone round in circles a few times but eventually have os installed and working. Just doing the update thing.

Got OS Win 7 Pro installed together with updates, but have a problem with the boot.

Every time system is restarted or switched on it boots to the Bios and I have to select the SSD manually. What have I messed up?

1 x ssd 2 HDD in raid 1 config (st least that what I tried to set up and the PC is reportin)

Tried setting the boot order in the bios but this doesn't appear to do anything, any advice welcome.

When you set ssd manualy are you hitting f10 to save it to cmos?

Yes am saving bios settings before exit.

Think I stumbled upon the solution by accident. Went to bios settings and in boot setting changed from Windows UEFI OS to Other OS and it seems to have worked?
