ASUS TUF Sabertooth x58

Their boards are lovely. A really intuitive bios, stable under overclocking, lots of useful hardware built in and a clearly defined, extensive range to choose from. If however the very lovely board breaks, you're best off throwing it in the bin and buying a new one. Linky. I doubt their returns rate is significantly different to the other leading brands, it's just that their customer service stands out from the crowd as awful. My gigabyte board is ugly as sin, as is its bios, but when it was misbehaving their customer service was spot on.

That's derailling this a touch though, my apologies. I think it's weird to release a board called TUF, in military colours. Higher spec components in areas where they're likely to fail is a good thing I suppose. The review claiming it has hardware raid is likely to be rubbish, it'll be software raid like all the other consumer motherboards get.

I'll summarise by saying I think this particular motherboard is a gimmick.
